Social Studies - Mr. Jared Gauthier

Hello, My name is Mr Gauthier, known to the students as “Mr.G”. This is my 5th year teaching social studies and 3rd year at the Laura Lee. I have always had a passion for history and geography of our world and I try to bring that passion into each lesson to inspire the students that history can be interesting and fun.

When I'm not teaching, I can be found taking care of my many animals. Currently I have two dogs, named Charlie and Jinx. Twenty chickens, many turtles, and many fish. During school vacations I love to travel, and bring my experiences back to the classroom to share with my students. Currently I have visited Nicaragua, Colombia, Costa Rica, South Africa, Italy, Thailand, and have driven across the USA.

 

Art - Ms. Mary Morrison

Hello! My name is Mary Morrison, and I am the art educator at Laura Lee School. This is my 5th year at Laura Lee but the 12th year with Lowell Public Schools. Previously, I was teaching art at The BRIDGE Program. 

I truly enjoy teaching my students about art. I design projects specifically for them.  I watch many students realize for the first time that they can do it, they are creative people. Art is more than just being “neat” or a “good drawer”, it’s becoming a creative problem solver. 

My Laura Lee students are the absolute best, they are always open minded and willing to try new things.

 

 

Physical Education - Mr. Joseph Durham

Hello. My name is Joe Durham aka Mr. D, and I teach physical education and health at Laura Lee for the past three years.I served four years with the United States Marines Corps, and graduated University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2009.I have a passion for physical fitness, as I am often in the gym working out as I try to model health habits for my students. In the fall, you can find me on the football field coaching with Lowell Jr. High Football organization. I also officiate high school basketball and high school softball.
