Room 1
Room 1 - Middle School 5-8
Teacher: Martha Hanson
Hello! My name is Mrs. Hanson, and I am proud to teach grades 5–8 at the Laura Lee Therapeutic School, where I’ve had the joy of working for the past 18 years. My goal each day is to create a structured, supportive classroom where students feel safe, respected, and truly cared for. I teach all academic subjects, but my greatest passion is helping students learn how to read and develop confidence in their literacy skills.
When I’m not in the classroom, I’m spending time with my husband and our two children. I love cheering my kids on in the sports they love, diving into a good mystery novel, and taking courses that help me continue growing as an educator.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to support my students and help them discover their strengths!
Paraprofessional: Reinaldo Rivera
Hi my name is Reinaldo J Rivera, aka Mr. J. I have been a para educator for Laura Lee for 7 years. I'm currently supporting Room 2 with Mrs. Hanson. Each day I do my best to support students and staff. Here I discovered my passion to teach, bring new experiences to the kids and the kids do the same for me. I'm blessed to have great staff and the best students that allow me to bring my creativity to the classroom. This year (2026) we are putting on the 4th annual talent show. It's always a pleasure to discover our students' hidden talents throughout the year to showcase during spirit week.
